Being in service of our own powerful and loving spirit
Often I ask myself: why am I doing what I am doing?
Is it in line with my values or a personal goal?
Is it to please someone?
Sometimes asking “what’s x in service of” will bring up feelings of obligation or the word “should.”
I recently worked with a shaman who advised me to pay attention to how I react to other’s demands.
Am I acting out of service or servitude?
It’s good to be “at the service” of someone, but being “in the service” of someone reeks of servitude.
In service of—without the ‘the’—speaks to the spirit.
