Goal setting from the inside out
Often our goals are based on what others want or the belief that some external force would end our discomfort.
Who hasn't chosen a career to please their parents?
Who hasn't thought that a material purchase was the answer?
Who hasn't thought they’d be happy if only they had a partner?
One cool way to find out whether our goals are in line with our true feelings is a system called the Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte, the motivational speaker, blogger and entrepreneur.
Instead of focusing on what we want, we start with the end feeling in mind.
Once the feeling is identified, a brainstorming session will identify all of the various ways that that feeling can be satisfied.
I came up with my three core desired feelings: love, peace and freedom.
What ways can I pursue to bring about those feelings?
